The Create project has developed a model of diversity management which is shown below. This should help identify key factors and stages that organisations should consider when planning to address diversity. Do you need to make a business case for diversity in your organisation?
Or do you need to develop your policies and procedures in your organisation? Monitoring, positive action training placements, benchmarking, supplier diversity are just a few of your options.
The model below- The Diversity Management Model being developed by janet brandling at the University of Bath identifies key factors and stages that organisations should consider and address when they embrace a diversity positive workplace culture.

Advertising, Referral and Seminars - Advertising, seminars and referral from known contacts are good ways of starting the process and opening the debate. Race for Opportunity have responded to new legislation by conducting seminars around Faith, Religion and Belief.
Point Of Contact - This is the stage where employers may engage consultants and experts to assist them develop their diversity strategy.
Seminars - Seminars and debates within the organisation around new legislation or changes in practise are good ways of starting the process. Also attend other people's workshops and conferences.See here for seminars
Changes to advert design and content are easy first stages. Positive action advertisements can be very specific in terms of identity with the groups it wishes to attract. Consultant List consultant list to be created. |
